I researched commercial construction careers, and found a construction degree is typically required.

I still want to have a “regular” career for now, but know I have what it takes to successfully run a business- say in the form of real estate investing.

My oldest graduated from BSU (engineering) and has a stellar career, and my youngest went grade 7 - 12 here in Idaho so he got the full experience of what it's like to grow up in this great state. 

Was that a past career in sales, management, or something related to real estate?

Learn of course, but many of us have purchased properties throughout our career without "iron clad" veils and have done just fine.
