Our plan is to initially rent the unit to our daughter, who is highly allergic to cats.My concern is - can I cost effectively remove all traces of the cat, so that she can stay comfortably?

I once had a renter tell me that she was allergic to the smell of the gas appliances, so we opted for electric.

It's not that I'm strapped for cash as much as I'm allergic to loosing money.

As @Dawn Anastasi said it was a mold issue.They are just covering their butts in case you have some severe allergic reaction.  

I make sure all my places have dishwashers, main floor w/d hookups (you would be surprised how many women note this near the top of their list), clean working appliances, central heat and air, no carpet, dogs allowed (within reason, no cats I am allergic if they are not kept clean), off-street parking. 

(of course she likes chocolate duh).She is allergic to vanilla.

(Other then me smelling like 3 month un-washed ape and Goofy AF, rude, don't like people very much, blunt, direct, lack emotion, compassion and allergic to stupidity.... our lead generation game is off the charts.
