What blog posts and Forum posts to get a basics then depending on your path, what information you should know or is it simply get the book on flipping, wholesaling, BRRRR, etc?

I recently discovered from the Bigger Pockets Podcast that I can use those funds for real estate through a self directing IRA account.

As of right now we have approximately $10k in savings (Currently in a Discover savings account at 1.6% rate) and no 401k or IRA.

You might also discover that working under another agent could give you a huge head start, you would be working on a commission split, but they should be providing leads. 

I read books, listen to podcasts, type emails, write blogs, etc. while on the train.
