We've got plenty of resources here.

Reading and podcasts are great resources and I utilizes them all the time, however I do not expect a step by step guide that will get me through everything.

I have been on the site for nearly a year, but I haven't been contributing.

I've been doing as much research as I can on locations and strategies, online and talking to real estate agents and friends (one of whom recommended this site which is awesome) I've gone through the BP online education and listened to a few podcasts.

Any tips on getting started or resources I could look at?

So far I am very impressed with BP and the wealth of knowledge available on this site and the sharing that happens with the BP members. 

If you read books and take course to learn how to run a successful remodeling or construction company, they are often the exact opposite principles of what I read in blogs on this site and others about hiring a contractor.  

Read everything you can on this site.
