I've always had dreams and plans of investing in real estate but in my mind it has been a "some day" thing...until my wife and I had our first child four months ago, a beautiful baby girl, and in my line of work I'm not home everyday to spend with my family...more like once a week for a couple days at a time then back on the road!

I would not worry so much about the age as the condition, location, repairs, rent rates and tenant pool.Grand Rapids has many beautiful, expensive and well preserved turn of the century homes that are in strong demand.

Imagine climbing a mountain to get to the top where the views are beautiful and the air is clear and fresh...but you have to go through a ton of mud...difficult rock walls...crossing cold streams...maybe a scrape or two along the way.
