I think different states are different but there is an actual bank code that refers to construction loans, and that is specifically stated in the loan docs.  

The more replies the better :) I want to look up properties that have housing code violations in my city.

I called the electric company to see what the costs of an extra box were and he told me that the entire cluster would need to be brought up to code AND he wasn't sure he could add a third box due to zoning issues.

What we do is ASK THEM FOR A COPY OF THEIR DRIVER'S LICENSE to have the lockbox code.

With that being said, I have looked to try and find places for rent in the zip code as well as the town and have not yet been able to find any comps or availabilities.  

Hi Bridget, There's probably a "building code violation" or "non-compliance" document recorded at the county office where you're located.

If the property owner and property management company, after becoming aware of the concerns of neighbors, take no action or ineffective action, then I will evaluate whether to make an offer to buy the property (at a discount) or what I can do to shield my tenants better or what code violations need to be reported to the city/county.
