Wendell and Knightdale are pretty closely linked...Knightdale being more of a bedroom community I think. 

I have a good real estate agent that I am working with and am hoping to learn more from everyone in this community.

While I don't have much experience I am also more than happy to answer questions and hopefully pay back this wonderful community with my own experiences down the road!

Even crossing the fence in my backyard adds $50k to the home prices because the community is gated.

Cinco Ranch) will be higher end communities (generally) and better schools.I would buy a rental in the Morton Ranch area. 

In my experience, NChs will cash flow the best or have the higher cap rates, however, has seen much lower long-term equity growth in general over the last fifteen years compared to some of the nearby communities that do not cash flow as well.
