What happens in a situation where a permit was open with the township to remove an oil tank, but was never closed or inspected?

It has a leaking OIL tank under the house.

For a long time I thought I would try to go back to corporate America (worked in finance for Oil & Gas company and in commercial banking), but I think an entreprenurial gig would be better with my main responsibilities as a Navy wife and mom.I think my education taught me how to juggle 20 different things at a time.

The house I'm looking at ("as-is") has an above ground oil tank.

In a lot of trouble right now with a fixer upper - major foundational issues, built on a flood plane, and the place is just full of mold. Really thought I was getting myself a good deal but the inspector missed a lot ...

ThanksJared I can't help but wonder, are we depreciating the trees (like a building), or depleting them (like oil or other natural resources)? 

If not already treated, even some oil or deck treatment on the deck boards would maybe lessen the gap, plus it'll prolong the life of the deck.

When one meets the other they clash like oil and water! 

Many of these towns have seen rents rise due to oil and wind farm work, but i tend to lean to the longer term tenants who are typically teachers, local government and police@David Song  As the OP, it seems that you are now talking about out of state investing and not necessarily sub $50k properties.
