I actually went to school at Furman so am very familiar with the area, although Greenville now is a far cry from what it was when I graduated (2005).  

There were 4 students paying $500 for each room and I paid utilities.

I know it takes money to make money, but for someone like me with terrible credit, student loan debts, and no saved money, is there a way I can get funds to start wholesaling, flipping, or renting houses?

I have yet to attend any local REIAs but have really been itching attend one (I actually started the Real Estate Investing & Networking Club at Iowa State University where I am currently a student).

But if there is anything the stock market has taught me it's "buy when they're crying, and sell when they're yellin."  

Initially, being near college students and having that connection, i figured i would go into the student rental niche (still might be the case). 

I now know a lot and yet realize i know oh so little, but an excellent student i shall remain.
