I plan to call all the escrow offices until I find who is closing and let them know there is a 10k+ issue and hope they will postpone until they can get it all sorted out and by then I should have something filed.

Often, the lender will postpone the foreclosure date if a short sale is in process so it's very possible.

Postponed sales and cancellations tend to throw them off.

Based on what they are paying, I'm guessing they are buy and hold investors that are hoping for some appreciation in the long term.For every successful winning bid there are literlly dozens of hours involved for drive-bys, tracking of postponements and cancellations, due diligence research, etc.

The sale is actually postponed until lifted by court order, not cancelled.

I would say as a whole BOA is pretty easy to work with and they are diligent with postponing short sales that are in review for a short sale.

You will get more deals from desperate homeowners at this stage; however, it is best to try to have them sign a deal prior to this time so there is time to postpone the foreclosure.
