Property Frameworks out of Plano.

Areas around Plano, near UT Dallas, have fairly high-end duplexes if that's your market.

Probably your best bet at house hack is buy an older 4bed 3bath in non-HOA neighborhood in Plano or McKinney and rent bedrooms if you want to live cheaper and have someone else pay your mortgage. 

I plan to house hack a single family home in a growing area/neighborhood in the town of Plano or Richardson.

Have you considered cities like Denton, Plano, McKinney, Richardson, Aubrey, Sanger, and the smaller towns around?

Now if I type 'Dallas, TX' in city-data.com, it'll give data for Dallas 'city', which will exclude nearby popular cities like Plano, Frisco, Allen, McKinney, etc.So is there a better way to get data where the region can contain a bigger area, rather than looking at data for individual 'cities' ?

Bought a 3 bed, 2 bed house in Plano that has done pretty well and I rented out the bedrooms for four years that covered the entirety of the PITI.
