The original trial court decision granting an injunction against the enforcement of the CTA and having to file the beneficial ownership information (BOI) reports has been reinstated.

I'm not completely foreign to the construction process as I grew up around a family that was involved in home building, but due to living in another state I can't really lean on them for the direct, hands-on guidance.

Leveraging equity does involve some risk, so it's important to have a sound strategy to avoid overextending yourself.

There are many ways to attempt to collect your loss:  file a small claims complaint against them; get a judgement so you can garnish future wages/bank accounts - and the judgement will be recorded in the credit bureau.
