I am trying to continue acquiring properties using this method and also learning about other methods as well, but I wanted to come in here to seek some advice from professionals that I'm willing to learn from as I am barely starting my real estate journey.

My best advice is to just leave them a bad review if they have a page and post in Facebook pages not recommending them to people. 

I didn't see all of the advice earlier in the thread and I want to say thank you again. 

You've got plenty of time to get creative with your investments, but my biggest advice for our first-timers in Denver and Colorado Springs is to not overthink it.

@Jan GatesI suggest you seek the advice of an experienced note investor and possibly some legal advice to get a broader understanding of the process, the risks, and the costs involved, and then determine if the investment makes sense.
