Standards are slowly evolving in the form of often-used storage & data-transfer formats, but don't hold your breath; even electronic medical records still use many different standards.Having said that, any good software-as-a-service should have a way to "get your data out," usually via CSV export, etc.

Get with a good broker that can teach and wear out some shoes getting out there face to face with people. :)

And try to get a garage lease that is more like a storage unit lease than a housing lease, if that is allowed in your state.

I could see them insisting on some provision that you will put them up at an agreed to hotel and pay for any storage needed until they can move in but not reasonable to say they will give you the funds that day.I get all monies owed at the lease signing.

When we refinanced a mini-storage a couple of years ago lenders looked at five years of income history.
