I'm in socal and my parents are looking into buying a home (for themselves).

I was gifted a rental house to me, by my parents and looking to get more into real estate.

I have no experience in real estate besides my parents owning their own home as well as the 10 acre family farm back in the Philippines. 

After my wife and I got out of the military, we both decided to move to Idaho next to my parents and purchased a home in Eastern Idaho.

:)    Moving along, my parents used to be heavily submerged in the real estate world, with my mother having her license active through the 90's and 2000's to my parents owning several rental properties of their own, some of which are still still owned today.

I'm getting a little impatient and feel like moving out of my parents house soon but is it a better idea to wait around another year to save enough for a multi or is a 50k to 70k home not a bad investment at my age?

My parents are willing to sell me a property below market cost to help me jump start my rental portfolio. 

I currently live at home with my parents and work full time for the state D.O.T. so I have a decent amount saved up (for a 23 year old at least LOL).
