After my wife and I got out of the military, we both decided to move to Idaho next to my parents and purchased a home in Eastern Idaho. I've been interested in real estate for a number of years but I've never had an opportunity to get started, through a lot of reading and some financial self control  we are now able to rent out our home at a 20.12% cash on cash return based on what we've put into it and our ability to upgrade the property to a desirable amount.  Now we are looking at the opportunity to be able to purchase a second property to upgrade and will hopefully have it rented out soon, this I'm sure is small too many of the people on this form but for me and my wife this is a very exciting first step and we can't wait to be able to get several more properties underneath our belt  so that we can gain true financial independence.
