What other topics would you begin studying to ensure you've got the right skills for syndication?

Mostly by negotiating a good purchase, doing good due diligence, and having good timing (which involves some luck and some skill - I believe good luck is also manufactured from persistency, consistency, and hard work.Good wholesalers do direct marketing and find/create deals not available to the public.

This is just basic customer services skills.  

That budget shortage will fall on your end, hence the contractor will leave the job unfinished, issue forced change orders (or really bloated prices), or something similarly unpleasant to you.

I think part of the Benefit of BP is its not just a rah rah session.and there is certain realities to the business.. what you state is true those things can happen and do happen. my point is they RARELY if ever happen to a raw beginner with no RE skills no money and No credit...

My advise for out of towners is buy completely finished housing stock and wait out this contractor shortage.

Apparently he's not strong in the sales skills.

Columbus has as very serious skilled labor shortage.
