I partnered with a third party inspection and certification company who has been successful in getting building officials to sign off on their processes that combine many IRC requirements and ANSI code.I'm also working with the Tiny Home Industry Association, who is a group of diverse individuals, (https://www.tinyhomeindustryassociation.org/board-of-directors/) working to engage the appropriate regulatory bodies like the IRC, IBC, ANSI, NFPA, etc. to start developing tiny house specific code.

The upside to making this shift in my opinion is again the experience in marketing, engaging with customers(buyers/sellers), and surrounding myself with other like minded people.The downside is, at a starting position in a marketing department, I'd be lucky to earn half(or maybe even less than half) of my current income!

I recommend you read partnership/operating templates online to get familiar with them, then engage a business attorney and tax professional to help dial everything in.
