There can be many reasons a property appears to be abandoned, and focusing on one that turns out to not be available would be a waste of your time. 

Btw I am specifically speaking for fairly new real estate investors not people who are loaded with $$$.Which area do you NYC wholesalers find properties?

I find that if I turn them down on non-essentials, but stay on top of safety issues, they learn that they might be wasting their time.  

I'd contact them even though it could be a waste of time. 

It was disgusting carpet due to animal waste...I mean man it was bad.

Can he provide that so you dont waste his time bringing him stuff that doesnt fit his criteria.Does he use 70% rule?
