I am not getting in to about tax laws today but interest rates have been used as a tool to calm down the inflation spawned from a hot economy.. thats not the case this time, we got inflation from a supply chain problem (lazy brats with everybody sitting in their duff economy) Now its just my opinion, problem I fear most, is the feds will misdiagnose the problem and hike interest rates than will bring stagflation.. and at that point all bets are off

To briefly touch on some important points, however …If you’re worried about a downturn, it’s not at all clear that precious metals and cryptocurrencies are uncorrelated assets or negatively correlated to the stock market, meaning in the event of a recession one should expect them to retain value (in fact, recent evidence suggests the potential for an opposite correlation of both Bitcoin and gold). If you’re worried about inflation, real estate is as good or better hedge than just about anything besides stocks. If you’re focused on returns, RE returns easily beat precious metals pretty much any way you slice it.

But of course the real question is when 😂It looks like interest rates will be rising, which has tended to cause asset prices to fall in the past (for real estate, higher monthly payments meaning people can't afford to pay as much for property). However we have other things going on in the economy (supply chain difficulties leading to inflation and - worse - the expectation of inflation which can then become a self-fulfilling prophecy) which could make you think prices are only going to go up.I'm still trying to find my crystal ball; I know I packed it away in a box before my last move, but I never did manage to find it.
