After having listened to some of the podcasts, some things that might work are:- Using listsource to create a targeted direct mail campaign- Using online ad words to generate leads- Driving for dollars- Lis-pendens lists (although these people get marketed to VERY heavily)- Put together a list of everyone you know (friends, family, coworkers, acquaintances, etc) and send out a letter to all stating your new career and ask for help in getting started (one of the podcasts describes this better in detail, forget which).In any case, I would say to keep educating yourself, and keep excited about your new career decision and life goals. 

And I tried Google AdWords as well as paid listings in Scotsman’s Guides and other directories.I have come to realize that their was no coordination in what I was doing, no central branding identity, and as a result I was probably leaving a lot of money on the table.IMO the thing you don’t want to do is go with these “solutions in a bottle” online ad agencies; they’ll sign you to a 12 month program at $8,000 a month.

Hi, I work with a few real estate agents at the moment and I was curious as to what other agents are doing to advertise.Whether it be google ad words, Facebook, instagram.. 

I wasted $600 on Google Adwords, and maybe got a few hits, but probably 0 bookings.

Out of curiosity has anyone tried a google adwords pay per click with success?

Either fear of getting on the phones and generating leads (expired listings, for sale by owner, rent by owner, general cold calling), or unable to afford a large marketing budget for direct mail or search engine ad-words or social media campaigns...On the buyer side, you can generate leads by working open houses for another agent, calling family and friends to see if they want to buy a house, get leads from Realtor.com or ZIllow or others.Which one is "better" depends on the market (seller's market vs. buyer's market) and how much control you want to have over your business.

I digress.On a more serious note: I'm a veteran of the US Coast Guard, a graduate of UC Irvine, a ton of internet marketing experience (SEO, user experience modification, adwords, etc), and I'm looking to provide a helping hand to an investor.

Robert Adams - To date my marketing has consisted of Website, email campaign, google Adwords (but not that long, it got pricey quick), twitter, FB and networking at a few chamber events.
