In the professional world, when an architect uses an interior designer on a restuarant project, for example, the job of the interior designer is to prepare interior drawings to be included in the permit drawing set.  

I like houses so much that I even went to school to be an architect (though that only lasted a year...). 

Then you are going to need an architect/engineer who will put together a plan set to process through the municipality just like if you were building new. 

Generally, I let my expeditor/Architect deal with all the rezoning requirements.

To be clearer: I have “new build” projects on the horizon and am trying to determine 1. whether this architect is quoting high on this easy project (& therefore I will try to find other options for the new builds).
