I think they where searching for 1 bedroom/studio in the thousands...

Since this is new to both of us, we have been educating ourselves through BiggerPockets books, podcasts, and audio books.

They probably have a pay schedule posted somewhere with what they pay for a particular unit: studio vs. 1 bedroom vs. 2 bedroom, etc... maybe you are not maximizing the section 8 potential (just thinking out loud here). 

We converted the basement of a townhouse to be a studio apt with kitchenette that we rent out for $950 and rent out one of the upstairs bedrooms.

I downloaded the audio book of this about a week ago and I am half way through.

The building is 45 units, with a mix of studios, one bedrooms and a two bedroom, two bath.
