My name is Hogan Chouinard and I am new to real estate investing, I have been wanting to get involved with real estate for a while because I want to give myself financial freedom in the future by putting in the extra work right now, I want to start a real estate portfolio that I can continue to build on over time for years to come, and I am hoping that I can meet some people on bigger pockets that can help me along the way!

These people are rooted in common sense. 

Generally, people doing a live-in flip will try to do the majority of the work themselves and only contract out things they can't do.

Particularly in a college town there are a lot of opportunistic property investors and low quality property managers. 

Everything I was being told sounded too good to be true and makes me wonder why most people aren't doing this.

I have posed this question to them “Are you people going broke ?”

Hello everyone, I am currently a senior in college (graduating in May) with a goal to purchase a duplex this upcoming Summer.

I also enjoy designing people's homes mainly friends and family and I love renovation projects! 

Above $150k is also tough because there are only so many areas that will command price points $200k+ and only so much demand from end buyers.That said, I know people that do it and do well with it.

People expect more.
