I think that the asking price is certainly an indicator of where the current owners mind is at with what they can get for the property.If you are looking to spend half a million dollars (or somewhere in that ballpark with your offer) I would shift my efforts to the New Center or Corktown areas.

That along with the fact we rely heavily on export of raw materials and we now have a tax and spend government in place we could see a negative economic shift on the horizon.Home prices will fall at some point, impossible to predict when.

It's been a fantastic shift from trying to do things with Excel and a plan scale.The learning curve is a little sharp until you grok that it's all object-oriented... after that sunk in I realized that the thing was really a rocket ship that could take you to the moon once you get it set up right.Previous to Planswift I was using an Excel sheet that I had set up with [about 5 pages of] common items that I could go through and enter quantities.

I once used it on a tile floor that needed immediate (within a few hours) access to the space, and within 60 minutes it was impossible to move the tile at all, even just to shift it a little for grout line consideration.
