Regardless of price-per-night you're stuck providing a "5-star experience" or you become a 2-star option.

About a 12-15 years ago the tv show writers were going on strike, no writers, no new shows,,so the network realized if they had 'unscripted' shows (big brother, etc etc) they could bring some new shows out during the strike. They realized that the shows were actually liked by audiences, and the cost of production (no mega stars) saved money,,,so it is grown to today's 'reality' shows on everything and all done with so much drama it makes me laugh.I loved one show that would show 'new hot water heater $1k, added value $2k", when truthfully you couldn't have sold it without the new hot water heater,,,I figured if you spent enough on a house you could retire after one flip according to that show

If it's only 70,000 you would have to sell a ton of houses to make anything each year.Example 3 houses a month closing at 70k ( rock star for a new agent ) is 210,000 gross sales a month X 12 = 2,520,0002,520,000 X .03 commission = 75,600 gross income - 30% broker cut (22,680) = 52,920 gross to agent. You then need to take out cost of meals, training, MLS dues, supra key, gas driving around to show properties, image expenses upkeep, office supplies, etc.

I have been giving Airbnb a chance and have got some bookings along with a few five star reviews which still pales to my 60 plus 5 star reviews on Homeaway.

I agree, the "plus" side as it were does seem debatable for those already receiving a premium, enjoying 5 star reviews, etc.
