Even for houses that weren't tapped to get cash out, a prolonged foreclosure (borrower files bankruptcy for example) can cause the compounding of those additional late fees, missed payments, attorney fees, special servicing fees, forced placed insurance, etc. - that compounding cause the debt to grow quickly.

Had this issue been prolonged it would of been a nightmare to have the city remove these properties from "Watch List-Intent to Demolish" including court cost, setting a bond and numerous other issues..glad we dodged that bullet
