Hello Bigger Pockets!
As I'm sure you read in the title, I am a new member from the live music capital of the world. I have been living in Austin for three years now, and I've decided to take action and start investing.

A little about me: I grew up in Fairfax, Virginia, a suburb of D.C. When I was 18, I joined the army and went to college at the United States Military Acadamy at West Point and majored in Economics. In one of my senior economics classes, we had a guest speaker who was an Air Force Major, a CFP, a Realtor, and an investor. His speach changed my life, and put me in the mindset of "Hey, I can do that!" Since then, I have commissioned as an Armor officer, lived at several army bases, and finally settled at Ft Hood, Texas, where I commute from Austin. I have been deployed twice, once to Iraq and then to Afghanistan were I am currently stationed.

My military carreer places me in a unique situation where I have no choice but to fully embrace virtual real estate investing! I do have the luxury of being entirely flexible as far as my market goes, so I am not tied to Austin specifically, I just love the city and hope to retire here. Several of the perks to my job are job security, a steady pay check, substancial savings for a 26 year old (2 deployments of tax free income will do that) and excellent credit. I am hungry for knowledge and have a deep entrepenurial spirit. I really buy into the "Abundance Mentality" that I've witnessed here at Bigger Pockets and on some of the podcasts I've listened too.

I have a goal of purchasing 4 cash flowing rental properties in the next 4 years and paying them down using wholesaling and birddogging.
I found bigger pockets a few months ago. It seemed that everytime I had a question about real estate, and I went searching on the internet, I found the answers in the same place: Bigger Pockets. I've gotten everything off of here from the Begginer's Guide to podcasts to reading lists to network connections. This is a great site.

I believe the best way to learn is on the job, and would be more than willing to help any established real estate investors in their business. Please feel free to contact me about anything.
