I've had legislators tell me no to something that I've wanted to do...and after a little investigation, I've found that they own property near mine and they personally don't want it there and use their office to try and intimidate me, and hope I go away.             

I therefore feel that this area will continue to appreciate its capital.

Little background info: Our objective is to continue building a portfolio of passive income rentals.

I think if you can continually show up and make contacts you will find them helpful. 

Continuing education is required every 2 years and you have to pay for those courses. 

You should also investigate if there have been changes in laws or zoning that the current property is grandfathered into that would pose restrictions on a new construction.  

You have a choice of losing more, pay mortgage w/ or w/o a tenant inside or continue losing more home value.   

As long as you show progress they will let you continue.

I do think oil will only continue to rise but at a slow pace.
