It's incredibly shortsighted to depend on the government to fulfill their side of that bargain.I absolutely believe that student loan debt combined with millennial behavior in general (less desire to settle in one place permanently, more job-hopping, greater focus on experiences rather than material possessions) will impact the housing market.

Some neighborhoods you can get up to $5,400 a month for 4 bedroom SFH's in somewhat affordable parts of the city like inland Carlsbad, Mission Valley, and Tierrasanta.Do you think Section 8 is worth the extra effort in terms of government red tape and delayed inspections versus house hacking a SFH and renting out each bedroom instead?

Most new construction in my area don't come with backyard landscaping, just bare dirt and weeds.Also, building new construction in California has so many fees and regulations that it doesn't pencil out
