Though I don't have any hard data, I think it would be fair to speculate that a very large portion of the BP community has very grandiose ideas that will lead them to financial freedom (which can mean something different for everybody) and even though there is a wealth of resources available not only here but across the web that can make different investing strategies easy to digest in a paint-by-numbers format, the truth is that it's an incredible grind day in and day out.Even those that have achieved "financial freedom" (or at least those we perceive to have) are still at it everyday, preserving and building upon their accomplishments.

@Kevin Moore house hacking the first deal is by far the best way to start because you get your personal finances in order (save dat money), you get to learn to be a landlord with training wheels, you get to use a lower down-payment and preserve cash, you have more intimate knowledge of what's going on at your building, you can buy in a higher value area because you can afford more, and tons of other benefits discussed ad nauseam on Bigger Pockets.

@Robin Morales we're basically neighbors, it really depends on what you are looking for in that space, it got a lot harder with statewide rent control for multifamily because a lot of units are just so far below market rent, the older cities tend to have more stock, and some of it has been pretty well preserved, Redlands/ Loma Linda, Downtown Riverside, and Corona.

It sounds like at this point your options may be to either: A) see if there are other forms of investing he could get on board with and start there to see if he grows more comfortable with time and experience or B) table the investing for now in order to preserve your marriage.

If they say no, ask if they'll give the deal consideration.If you get this objection frequently, maybe your deals and/or marketing should focus more on your capital preservation procedures.
