I can't see someone going through all that effort just to rent an apartment, when there are no shortage of rental options available.

You would be counting on a lender acting really dumb (I agreed THAT happens) and ignoring are of the due process the superior court will require of your efforts in noticing them.

@Zach Sayre there's a ton of info here on BP - you just have to make the effort to find it.If you won't make an effort to educate yourself, don't see your investing future being successful.

I will not be discouraged and I will continue to put forth the needed effort.

This seems likely to require expense (consult with attorney, possibly refinance, etc)  and effort.  

Despite the money, has anyone found genuine success with this route? 

If you can create an aspirational connection with an influencer that others aspire to be, that can be very helpful in your persuasion efforts.

The only reccomendation I would make is spend the most time and effort building your team locally.
