His deceased father owned 9 houses, his grandmother owns 5 of them of which one he lives in and 2 others that she wants to work a deal with him because no one has occupied the dwelling and the taxes are behind to the point where all the money is due at one time.

Hello - my girlfriend and I recently took over a property owned by her now deceased grandfather.

Here are a few: Need cash to stay afloat, preparing to sell, preparing to move or bailing out b/c they cant afford the home, a family member deceased and they have to sell the stuff before selling the home, raising $$ to help a family member in distress, raising $$ to make repairs they cant afford, and their are probably so many I cant remember or think of!!!

I learned from a neighbor the owner passed away; and left the property to his family who were unaware of a 275k mortgage or lien on the property.Apparently the family of the deceased were in the process of remodeling the home and couldn't keep up with the mortgage and has since left the home.

Do not disregard looking in the city of Milwaukee as well - there is a number of pocket neighborhoods, typically where it is on the border with a suburb, that should give you a good rental and hold the value for a while.Duplexes typically do not cost more than SFR, but will give you double the income.Enjoy sunny Cali, as it it raining cats and dogs around here!
