The current tenants have been long term, but one of the units is a studio apartment and would be perfect to be rented to a nursing student during the school year (we're considering using it ourselves as a vacation unit, so we'd rent it out furnished).

Be honest with yourself about what you will and won't be doing and then make sure you have people who can help you with the other aspects.I think its human nature to value what we enjoy.

Vacation rentals have been growing at a rapid pace in Puerto Rico with currently some 10,000 units being offered in sites such as Airbnb.

Considering Palm springs and Big Bear as a vacation rental property.Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I would plan on renovating the property, renting it as vacation weekly rental to cover the land lease price, and also go there myself on some weekends.
