the way I'm reading it is if you did a major remodel you would have to pay for a temporary housing alternative for them but it's only their option to move out permanently.

I personally find it the other way when viewing homes of owner/agents often overprice their homes that they live in because just like normal sellers they are emotionally attached to the home and can't look at it with neutral eyes.
