I've also seen quite a few doctors be nearly scammed due to their inexperience in real estate but taking advice from pitches from the country club set.

Some of these may be legit, but some of them...especially the ones who claim you will start off making $10,000 a week....sound like a scam.How would a scam like this work?

But the fact that they misremember clear events that were notable (always in their favor), combined with the fact that they have had no rental history for ten years, and have no furniture, makes me think this is a scam they pull...I will let a unit sit empty or sell if I have to before I ever lower my standards again.

This is esp. true in lower class homes where scammers are more plentiful and one of the popular scams is to put little or no money down and move in and then never pay rent. 

It's a scam or be scammed world in this line of work.

They also said that they had difficulty convincing the people that it wasn't a scam.
