I also like Blink cameras for their battery-powered, use anywhere capabilities, however the recent Amazon buyout has led to Amazon killing off a lot of the third party integrations that made the product so useful in an overall camera config.

Perhaps this will be an unpopular opinion…..I would either: think of this purely from an investment lens, in which case owning cross country is fine….OrTreat this as a vacation/investment, and make it driving distance.My worry is that you’ll buy a place in say FL, you’ll fly there twice/year.

@Danny Duran  On the tax issue - if you purchase a 3 flat purely as a rental property (not a non-primary residence) you can deduct 100% of mortgage interest, taxes, insurance, building repairs, etc.
