The only difference these days is that the modular vinyl windows can be bought preassembled with gas sealed between glass panes and slotted into existing window openings.Whatever you do, Andy, good luck in your business.

Trim all trees away from the home and in the back yard. 2nd cut once job is done for photos. 2- Paint exterior walls, trim, shutters, doors 3- replace all broken window panes and ensure all windows open4- replace front door and frame paint to match house 5- install all missing shutters.

For the windows, if they are the old wood sash single pane windows, it may be better to replace them than to restore them, unless you want to do a historical renovation.

I will be taking care of the windows (double pane to reduce the noise), but I know that being next to the bridge will be a deal killer for many.Outside of minimizing physical concerns by adjusting price and the windows (the unit has all the bells and whistle a buyer would expect in a neighborhood such as this one), what can I do to minimize or allay the emotional concerns about the train noise?
