The Bill Gates' of the world are the exception, not the rule, and had they gone to college, they likely still would have been successful.In fact, show one person who didn't go to college who built a successful ($10M+) company and I'll show you 10 people who have done it who did go to college.In fact, the best recipe for entrepreneurial success I've found is to go to college and then get an MBA at a top-tier business school.

I don't know any highly successful investors, who are self made, that did not attend college, I do know some successful people who did not attend college.My undergrad was in finance/accounting and economics, later an MBA.

I have a similar background Mike w/a BS in Hotel Admin from UNLV and an MBA from NY, but if I had to do it all over again, I'd avoid the Hospitality Industry - even though while in it working in a front of the house well tipped position w/a decent hourly wage in Vegas and Reno Mega Resort Casinos, I surely didn't need any degree in Hotel/hospitality.

Beyond that, you'll get office jargon, especially in backroom servicing and underwriting firms, you'll get some MBA just out of school, an ex-stock broker and others who develop thier own office lingo to describe some aspect that may have been derived from mixing terms, if that's what new workers are exposed to, that's what they learn.
