So, that was the skinny - now...I feel I'm on the right track for saving for a downpayment n closing costs...I have been doing my research as to which strategies I wanna approach and execute on....I guess now that things seem to be going smooth and it's just a matter of time/saving til I can get my start in REI....that...I'm worried when I actually have the money for the downpayment and I go to vet lenders, that the lenders are going to deny me due to the industry that I legally make my living in.

I find the industry of real estate very intriguing in many aspects and I can't wait to learn from every single one of you. 

Another point is I’ve been in the construction industry most of my adult life so we will be building the home ourselves, saving 10+% on whatever size home we build.

But keep in mind that any industry with as much commission up for grabs as real estate is not a place you will find success without seriously competing.Best way to get started is to get licensed and get to learning, don't expect to be able to support yourself off of sales in the beginning.

I truly believe that great agents are valuable for anyone; however, with the barrier to entry in the industry so low the "average" is pulled down quite a bit.
