Electronic fax is $9.99 a month for 1000 faxes and internet phone is only a couple bucks a month with skype.I know I did not answer your questions, but there are some other options.

Here in FL, the homes with a dog are less likely to be broken into.Regarding the shed, figure self storage will cost 80 bucks, here in FL at least, per month.
