I'm glad I caught that early this year so I can start reserving for it.I like land in the Arizona desert because 1) I know I won't be buying an abandoned house that costs more to repair than it's worth; and 2) It's all sand and tumbleweed so if they are redeemed, I don't have to worry about the city fining me or having liens on the property for overgrown weeds :)Interest rate is 16% this year though it seems lately you end up in a loss position after the lawyer charges fees for noticing (that $20 in interest is offset by a $100 legal bill for notice of redemption prior to filing in court).

Anything they leave behind is considered abandoned property and you don’t have to keep it or store it for them or anything like in other states.
