I was seriously looking at Uptown but the new laws and of course we know nothing of how the police situation will be handled makes me sit on my hands for now - at least for the TC.

F = At least 2 of these criteria are met: within 2 blocks of a homeless shelter, multiple houses within 2 blocks that are burned out/boarded up, recent murders or shootings have taken place there; while you were asleep, someone drove by your rental and shot at/through it,a police officer was shot within 2 blocks

I requested them file a police report, and I would look into my options.  

With 1-4 units I talk to neighbors, get rent estimates from my property manager, check for police reports.

The police said the arrest record is not public information until the case is closed (and that length of time depends on the plea and/or a trial). 

You might have to deal with the police if the renters are throwing a loud party or someone overdoses in the house.

We told them each that if it was that bad that they needed to call the police and send us a copy of the police report.

Police reports and complaints could be very helpful.
