I have a number of friends in the Meyerland area who woke up to 3-4 feet of water and have pretty much lost everything as their homes are completely submerged. 19 people from our church have evacuated and are in emergency accommodation with 2 families (one with a pregnant wife) are trapped in their homes and cannot get through to rescue services.I live in the medical centre district and the water was 2 inches up our front doors, but luckily only got a little wet, and quickly went back down to the road when we had a little respite.However, I know that Houstonians are resilient, and will rebuild quickly!

As of today a buddy of mine was still rescuing people from flooded apartments (on a kayak, and yes, he is crazy).  

A 5 minute drive from where I lived could have put me at a cliff where you could be a rescue victim so its easy to escape the city feel.

One was from the Michael Vick case, he had adopted one of the rescued fighting pits and the other was from another rescue!

It's hauled pretty much everything for the rental properties and for the animal rescue groups I volunteer for.   

In the end, we rescued this home for our client and saved our Realtor partner's well-earned commission.

That means driving for dollars, cold calling, and all around hustling, but at least you're not waiting for a partner to rescue you ( or take advantage of you)....you're conquering your own destiny and you can do it easily..best of luck!
