That’s great advice Taz, I’m currently working on saving enough money to get started, house hacking is hard for me at the moment because I just bought a house 2 years ago, I would have to sell my house(which is in a great neighborhood great location) and use that money to fund the duplex which isn’t totally out of the question, I would like to keep the house if possible but also would like to get real estate investing more.

Recently a duplex came on the market that I am really interested in, it is located in an A neighborhood.

It's was so easy for me getting started to get shiny object sindrome instead of locking in ONE STRATEGY, ONE NEIGHBORHOOD, ONE PROPERTY TYPE, ONE RENOVATION TYPE, etc. 

We would love to connect with investors, as well as investor-friendly realtors and property managers in the northern Alabama region.Any insights into the local market or recommendations for neighborhoods to explore further would be greatly appreciated.

There are a few Dundalk neighborhoods I'd stay away from but for the most part it's a great area for house hacking/BRRRR.

After diligent searching there are ZERO duplexes for sale within an hours drive of my work place.

For C/C- neighborhoods you usually need to scale to 10+ doors; it's a numbers game. 

You want an accountant that can help you strategize and who is responsive when you want to know the tax consequences of the decisions you are making throughout the year.Good luck in your search.
