New to the Northern Alabama market

My wife, Elsa, and I grew up in the western suburbs of Chicago, but we currently live in British Columbia, Canada. We’re excited to begin our real estate investment journey in 2025!

In the near future, we’ll be visiting The Shoals area in northern Alabama, where we’re considering a potential move this spring. We would love to connect with investors, as well as investor-friendly realtors and property managers in the northern Alabama region.

Any insights into the local market or recommendations for neighborhoods to explore further would be greatly appreciated. We're particularly interested in purchasing a duplex, triplex, or fourplex, or a property with an ADU to start our investment journey.

I buy single families in the Huntsville and Birmingham area. I would advise running your rents conservatively and vet property managers properly before signing anything. The Alabama market was hot for me in 2022 then took a turn in '23 and '24. Good luck!
