My husband and I are born and raised in Hawai'i trying to go beyond affording the "price of paradise"...We recently began investing out of state in Ohio and closed on our first property 2 weeks ago.

@Wendy NobleWendy, I've read many of Jim's books but my favorite is the most recent book he wrote, "Street Smarts" as he talks a lot more about his personal life growing up: Born in October 19, 1942 in Alabama, getting accepted to Yale, failed first marriage, starting the Quantum fund with legendary George Soros etc., and his passion for investing.

Anyways here is a little bit more about me:-As mentioned before I was born and raised in Buffalo-My family has a history of flipping houses, from my grandpa to my father.I went to the University at Buffalo and got a BS in Business Administration-On a whim I applied for a job as a commercial real estate appraiser trainee and for the past 2 years ive been doing that.

But I'm a born skeptic and I've never painted a wall (or anything else) since kindergarten.Curious if anyone here has used the stuff.

I was born in Washington D.C. but have lived in San Antonio since I was 5.I'm not sure what I'm focused on right now.
