I'm not sure what's "required" but I put in everything that there are hookups for: stove, fridge, dishwasher, washer/dryer. 

Some people require a dishwasher and onsite laundry, while other have to live close to the interstate but maybe not both.

I was reading a bunch of the threads early this morning and something dawned on me.

Deep clean the whole place, pull the fridge out and vacuum the coils, make sure all drains are working and sanitize them - stop and fill each sink with a mix of hot water, a splash of bleach, and several good squirts of Dawn dish soap.
