The socialist wing of the Democratic party (tenants' rights, low-income advocates, non-profits, unions, etc) got this over the finish line over the objections of landlord organizations.  

For renewals, one thing that we found that rewarded the tenant and helped us keep up with maintenance was to offer to paint refresh the main living area or kitchen or room of their choice, and to offer to shampoo the high traffic areas of their carpet, or as much as they wanted done for carpet.. 

I know the secret, which is our low unemployment, low taxes, low cost of living, low crime rate, low traffic, family values and great community. 

If I were planning on investing in Seattle this wouldn't deter me.What would deter me is their homeless problem, socialist city council woman harping about rent control, prices, the traffic and finally the frequent protests.I know prices are surging and housing is tight but the political climate there would concern me enough that I wouldn't consider investing inside the city limits.

Oak Park is just 20 minutes from the city (without traffic) and also a great area to live.  

But if I show it during open house, the traffic makes the potential prospects apply immediately.

I put up bandit signs on heavy traffic areas as well but you would have to look at the city/towns laws for bandit signs.  

Being out of town I am looking forward to the first tech Savvy organizer that will stream the meetings for out of state investors that would like to attend.

I would think if it had either, that is a good sign...What about religious organizations like churches nearby?
