Because you could theoretically take it out having it satisfies their requirement of having that money actually sitting in an account settling dust, which is pretty handy if you are strapped in the first place:).As far as the frugality I think it is crucial to any type of investing that you are able to control your discretionary spending.

Job transfer, death in family, something sudden and drastic.It is a good tool to have in your belt, but it can be in the hidden bag in the back because, if used properly for the right property, it doesn't get used much @Tashzieanna MinterAs a primary strategy, you will starve or make mistakes forcing it on the wrong properties and wrong situations in my opinion.

I sold fuller brush door to door.. was good at it but 50 bucks a week was not going to cut it.. bagged groceries for 2.18 an hour which was pretty good with 25 cent gas. and I dreamed of being a checker with the 10 dollar an hour pay and what would I do with all that money.
